Brittany Horn Duff, my cousin, sadly, hasn’t been seen in eight months.
We’ve experienced a lot of heartache, annoyance, confusion, and stress on our journey. Unless it has happened to a family member of yours, most people reading this won’t find it relatable.
Some people who read this might not fully understand the complexities of ambiguous loss or the horror of living without closure, answers, or good-byes.
Some people might not be aware of the fact that this kind of loss makes it difficult to trust people, keeps you awake at night, and saps your motivation and zest for life.
Some people will judge her or us even after reading this (and earlier posts) and even after knowing where she is and what happened to her. I ask God to show us this in my daily prayers.
For those you care about, you wear these stripes.
We will keep looking for details about what happened to her and how to get her back to us. The most crucial aspect is this.
She is required and cherished, and she is my cousin, and she is important.
